10% of all animal species on Earth live in Thailand

The tapir is one of the exceptional animals, specific to this country. Though similar to the pig, the tapir is classified in the same group of mammals as the rhino and horse. Tapirs love marshes and tropical swamps. They’re great swimmers and divers. Tapirs are solitary. They forage at dusk and at night. Their upper lip and nose create a proboscis. They have big ears, but small eyes. Except for the Malayan tapir, which is black and white, all of them are brown.
